Press Release 1st April 2008

Rasen ist out! (which means no racing around Nurburgring as the local road signs orders) Not so for NurburgMotorsport who are now preparing for the new Nurburgring Opening VLN series in 2009

At a breakfast meeting, organised to co-inside with Business Partner Pia Scheer’s birthday, NurburgMotorsport are pleased to announce that they will be building and entering another Manfred Scheer prepared Race car in the familiar “jet black livery”, which is already well known and well respected around the World famous Nurburgring. This time it is for the new Nurburgring VLN Racing Series starting in March 2009.

As a winning VLN Racing Team Manger Manfred Scheer, a former mechanic on the Toyota World Rally Team, who also grew up at "The Ring" and who has worked as a Marshal on the Nurburgring for over 10 years, says “it makes more sense to take our time and get it right for the new Nurburgring and the new first season in 2009. With the return of F1 and all the new things here at the Ring – 2009 will be a very special year for us and for everyone connected with the new Nurburgring. We already have most of the Team ready to win - we just need to select and build a strong, quick, reliable and safe car. We also need to find the right type of sponsors for us. We will take our time we are slow to choose but quickly when it comes to winning!”

As part of the Racing package NurburgMotorsport will be offering an attractive sponsorship and advertising package open to both commercial and private sponsors. This will be coupled with hospitality, entertainment, travel and accommodations options all geared for the new Nurburgring experience in 2009.

Chief Team Mechanic Jürgen says ” better energy management and low overall weight consideration is the way forward, bio-diesel and lightweight aluminium is the technology we would like to use but as a very small Racing Company. We don’t have enough money and sponsors seem to favour the larger Racing Teams. It’s not good for us when we have already proved what we can make in a “Kuhstall” I don’t know the English name for it (German translation meaning a “cow shed”) our Quiddelbach Headquarters is where we can do much more – we need just the chance and then we can win”.

Business Partner Ken Harris says” Who can resist the thrill and excitement of being involved with the exciting future at the new Nurburgring in 2009.  With all the amazing new facilities currently being built, they are working sometimes through the night to finish it; it’s too just too good to be true! We already have our eyes on two up and coming young Dutch drivers and who knows we might be able to even keep some of it in the family, if my son Chris Harris, a traffic Police Officer, back in the UK proves he is safe and fast enough without the benefit of those damn noisy blues & two’s.”

Happy Birthday to Pia from the NurburgMotorsport VLN Racing Team for 2009.
